It looks like this carpet anemone has a 2nd oral disc. Is that what it is? Aren't they only supposed to have one? Is it going to splitxor?

Oh, NOOO! You got a mutant coral there, and you better kill it before it climb out of the tank during the night, and eat everything in the frig!
Seriously, it is very normal. They may stay with two or more mouths for years without spliting (depends on the growth).

Questions: Now that I have two mouths on the anemone, which mouth should I feed? Do I need to feed both mouth? If I only feed one of them, will the other one got so hungry that it will eat the one right next to it? Or it will starved and disappeared? 
Then I am not the only one, I hope it was not sold as a carpet.

yep yep it was already pointed out to me like 300 times that it's not an carpet anemone ... thanks every you can stop now.
ps there are two of these and they were stuck to a chunk of live rock i bought, along with a purple mushroom and some other junk including a big nasty sea slug.

you can easily force it to split by slicing/nicking it w/a razor,slicing it along a radius-about 2/3 the distance from either of the mouths, to the edge-it'll release some mesenterial filaments, and look crappy for a short while, then divide-
or you can leave it on it's own- methinks it'll split soon, anyway :wink:
while not necessary to feed it actively-you can just place a teeny bit of fresh chopped seafood on it every once in awhile-anywhere on the polyp- it'll close up around the food on its own-this will also bring it around to splitting(growing) faster

You guys keep referring to it as mutant? I know there are lots of pix of shrooms on the web but perhaps you could link or post what is the "quintessential or ideal" shroom appearance? I don't know what this one is mutant.
Also, do corals move? These to shrooms that i ahve appear to be wandering. And expanding in size. the big one was stretched to about 5" today.

Mutant issue: I was just kidding with you. I have the same mushroom in my tank (for about 4+ yrs), and it looks like that when it is not happy. Otherwise, it is a lot more fuzzy that that on the top surface. Mine is about 8 inch in diameter if not larger.... they get pretty big, and you have to cut it for it to split.
Moving issue: This particular type does not move... are you sure about that? :?
Feeding issue: It will role up into a vase and close for a day or two when fed. IME, it will do fine without feeding purposely, but doing it sure make the big mouth happy. They are not picky about food.

They are just kidding with the 'mutant' thing. It won't come out of the tank at night and eat everthing in your fridge (the pantry, maybe).
Mushrooms do move about and expand to different sizes. If conditions are right, they will multiply quickly.
You don't have to feed it, but you can give a little treat every now and then. A little piece of shrimp. If you don't give it an occasional treat, no sweat, but the pantry will suffer. :twisted:
