Lighting problems

i am having alot of trouble deciding between pc and the t-5's that len recomended for me, i stopped by the LFS and they actually had a t-5 setup it was a 48in 6 bulb setup but they only had 2 of the bulbs on, when i asked why he said they were getting too hot( the tank was only abotu a foot deep and 6 feet by 5 feet around) but the light was suspended a good two feet above.. i have a 55 gallon long and am looking at the custom sea life pc w/ moonlight and built in fans(its easy to slide on) and has 4 bulbs at 65 watts, if i were to get t-5 i would get the 48in with either 4 or 6 bulbs, can anyone share their experiences with either of these or give me some more info on the t-5's.. e.g. the look it will give the tank, the watts(couldn't find on the dealer page), and if i will have to buy fans or some type of suspention or mounting bracket for them.. thank you very much i am new to all this complicated lighting and want to make sure i make the right choice for my livestock.
