lurker here too. dont have a tank at the moment (not able to put in the time to give my inhabitants a good home) so i dont feel right giving advice. just learning so i can stay up to date when the time comes to get back in it.
I have been lurking for years. I did not even register untill recently when I needed to ask a few questions about moving my tank. But I keep to myself in real life as well. I sure would love one of those digital cameras to take pics. I would prob post more often if I could post pics.
I lurked in here for 6 months before I registered. I actually researched that amount of time before I started my tank. The more I learned, the more I came here. I think it's an excellant board for new people, as I spent a lot of time reading articles from the entire site. I still lurk here almost daily. I clicked on the Sump one day, figuring to find out about plumbing. Not even close. 8O
Limited experience = limited advice. I try very hard to not offer advice about anything I have not personally experienced or witnessed myself. I do a lot of surfing on the web, so if I know of a relevent link, I will sometimes provide that, and people can make up thier own mind about the content. I don't give advice based on something I read once or twice somewhere.
hmmm, i always said that about this blasted forum.
everyone acting all appropriate and everything.... "what should i do about my algae?", "what is this?", "how much light do i need" speaking of the light, it shines constantly up here......OH MY GOD!!! IT BURNS!!!!!
I've been lurking here for a while bascially because I'm a newbie. My first marine/reef tank has only been up and running for 2 months now. Things are going well at this point and I've been learning a lot from this site, I've definitely taken the "read, read, read" advice to heart. As for the lurking, I'm a little fearful to give advice/feedback on things I think I understand but have not experienced yet.
