 Be aware of bioload.

:? Be aware of what fish can be housed together.

 Fish need a certain amount of room. Read up on what size tank per particular fish.

LOULE!!!! Hey, a little tip, gator, after you get enough juice, you start to LIKE it. (Much like a good spanking.)

Hey! Quit flirting! Your not in the Sump.

Saltwater tanks take lots of patience. Too many fish and somebody WILL get stressed and die. Only have one variety of Clownfish in the tank. That cool looking green bubble clusters (valonia) is not something you really want to put into your tank. Emerald crabs do not always eat valonia.

Two phrases you'll hear again and again...

"The solution to pollution is dilution." -and- "Only bad things happen fast."

Get as big a tank/as much water volume as you can because when (not IF) the bad things happen, they happen a LOT faster in smaller tanks.. (And when you go to correct them, it's easier to overdo it and cause MORE problems in a smaller tank..)

Must second two points: Always try to buy captive raised, if it can be captive raised and you want it, try to order it online or wait till your lfs can get a captive bread specimen...support captive breeding!
Never buy a rio pump or powerhead, there are just too many reports of problems with their products (myself included), and it doesn't seem that they are interested, to my knowledge, in correcting these issues.
Meet some local people interested in your hobby, get some frags from fellow reefers, try to have as little impact on the wild reef as possible.
Research before you buy!!!!
