Try to find the source of excess nutrients in your tank. Do you use tap water? Add a refugium with macro or beef up your skimmer if possible. Can you add a fish that eats it such as a lawnmower blenny?
Nope, RO/DI water. New Urchin Pro skimmer for my 55g tank was installed yesterday. Trying to find a lawnmower blenny at the LFSs, but none in stock. probably going to order one here shortly..
I scrub at it comes right back in the same spots in 3-5 days.
I thought of adding a fuge but dont know if I can fit one in my stand with my sump. Plus the electricity to run another pump and light. I got all my tank, stereo, tv, lights in my living room on the same circuit already.

If I may make a suggestion...in my experience a lawn mower blenny will not eat the hair algae (at least not very well). My suggestion would be to get either a rabbitt fish and/or a sailfin tang - they love hair algae. I am suggesting the following fish b/c I have been through a similar situation, all parameters good...RODI water...refugium...but still had lots of algae UNTIL those guys took came into town. Since the first day I introduced them it has been constant eating and now I have a clean tank.
