What are the highest levels of PH in a predominatly softie tank.

I'm no expert on PH issues, but I can tell you that my tank used to have a cronically high PH for a long time. The PH topped out at 8.7 towards the end of the photoperiod. All of my animals thrived during the whole time the high PH was going on. I'd say it lasted a full year or more.

What is your PH?

BTW, my tank is mostly sps.

Well I am currently reading 8.57. Tonight I will re-calibrate the pin-point PH monitor to insure it is fully accurate.

I try to stay in the 8.2-8.5 range.

I'd stay below 8.6, depend on your alk level too. Buffer the alk level so your pH does not "swing".

Thanks for the replys I did a 20g wc today and it JUMPED to 8.8 so I will get a alk buffer in the near future.
