Calcium reactors?

I am thinking about purchasing a calcium reactor. I think the Knop looks like a pretty good unit. Any results of other reactor would be appreciated.


If i start using a CA reactor what chemicals should i stop using. Currently I dose the following

10oz of Natur Reef Former daily
50ml of part A daily
50ml of part B daily
5ml of iodine daily
30ml of Microplanton daily

The tank test as follows pretty regulary with those chemicals as follows:


Temp 78
Ph 8.2
Alkalinty 2.5
Ca2 420
KH 9
PO4 0
N 0
Nitrite <.2
Nitrate <10
Specific Gravity 1.0225
Salinty 33

The tank parameter are

110 gallon with a 40 gallon sump and a 20 gallon refugium with stonys, sps, lps and a few fish

depends on what you keep, once the reactor is up and running, you can probably stop the above chemical additives. Knop is fine, but so are other brands. Right now, only use DIY calcium reactors for my tanks. You will save a lot of time and money in the long run with a reactor.

A reactor will supply all the Ca, alk, and strontium you could ever want and more. Knop makes good reactors, and I use their media (Koralith) in my Precision Marine reactor. Big fan of my reactor BTW.

Which knop are you looking at?

I have and still have a knop C they are painfully small, good for a 20g sps tank, but that's about it

I'd ease back on the iodine.
