The main thing thats caused my xenia to die is high temps. I've been told by a few marine biologists that yearly rising temps help keep xenia naturally cropped back. Makes sense, this stuff grows like weeds, 2 1/2 months in a 55g and alls you can see is pink pulsing xenia.

I've had problem with Xenia at times, but it almost always is due to poor alkalinity. If you have a low Alk the things turn to mush in the matter of hours. Try testing your Alk. I keep mine at around 6-8 and my pulsing xenia haven't looked better. They've already split 6 times and have taken over one side of my 75, and I've only had them a month. The first week I had them my alk fell to around 2 and they started dying off. Fixed with in a day or two and they popped right back.
