I have bought 2 corals today:
1) Green Brain Coral
1) Hairy Mushroom
Where i bought these the guy said that I do not need to feed these corals that they get their food from micro alge. Is this true? If not what do I need to feed them. :?:

Frozen brine or mysis, small peices of raw shrimp or any meaty food you feed your fish. drop a small bit on the coral to feed it.

I think anything that has a mouth, probably wants some food to go in it at least occasionally :)

The brain will likely extend it's feeding tentacles at night, that is a good time to feed.

The mushroom may or may not eat, the hairy ones usually do though.

Your LFS may have advised that it's not necessary to feed them. You really have to make that judgement yourself through observation. Since these corals or photosynthetic, they will primarily feed themselves with the light you provide but they also feed off of particles whether it be leftovers, chopped up pieces you provide, or plankton. Of course, non-photosynthetic inverts will require substantial feedings.
