We had our larvae collector going in the 100-gallon tank with our spawning pair of true perculas. The perculas were late hatching so we left the syphon collector going all night. To our surprise the next morning there were some much smaller larvae in the collection tank along with some of the baby clownfish. The tank also houses an adult pair of P. aldabrensis. One of the pair is often in hiding for days at a time and at one time I thought it had died. When it reappeared I suspected they were spawning somewhere in the rocks. The area they always retreat to after eating is close to where the clownfish lay their eggs. Anyway I'm about 98% sure we are a couple of dozen P. Aldabrensis larvae in with the clowns. Does anyone know if they can be reared together? I read breeding the Orchid dottyback a couple of years ago and remember Martin Moe collected planton or something to feed them, since they were smaller than clownfish. Is it possible to keep any alive on just rotifers in the early days? I've attached a couple of not so good pictures of the breeders.

Awesome. I have never heard of anyone rearing two different genus together. You may be the first ;) It's a long shot, but maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised and hear similiar experiences. If not, definitely report how it goes. I'm extremely interested, as I'm sure many others are.

Personally, I don't see why it can't be done. Neither fry are big enough to eat the other at any stage, so it's a probable. I'm even more interested in how the offsprings behave when they mature. C.B. fish are always more docile then their wild counterparts, but I wonder how raising two different genus together will affect their behavior.
