In Lubbock, we pay about $4.75/lb for nice purple live rock. Uncured runs about $3.50? depending on the mood of the LFS teenager when they decide to ring up your bill.
the norm out here is like $3.99 for fiji cured. but I have seen it higher. Shop around for people dismantaling tanks they usually seel the stuff for cheap and its already cured
One store sells it for $4.99/lb. another sells it for $3.99/lb. uncured and $4.99/lb cured. That is not to bad. The bad part is all the rock is ugly as hell. White with no Algae growing on it. Wouldent mind paying that much for good looking rock. I like to get what I pay for.
most of the stores around here change the price depending on how much you buy...the more you buy the cheaper per pound but i don't think i could ever get it as low as 3.99!!!
recently I bought some really nice fiji, kaelini, and tonga brach for like $1.85 lb and $2.65 lb. All the rocks had corals and polyps and sponges all over the place. It was a good find out of www.recycler.com
The norm here is 7.00 a lb. for semi-good Fiji, 1 less for some OK tonga. Good rock runs like 8-10 a lb. I got my good rock off the internet for 3.00 a lb., though
average 4.89 to 8.99 a pound n matter cured or un- depends on type and how good it looks- I hate the LFSs in this area- I wish mine was still open- I miss my employee discounts.
It runs $3.50 to $8.00 depending on the shop and the type of rock.
I still cant figure out why the domestic aquaculterd is the most expensive...
My LFS in Dayton sells Fiji for 3-5 per lb, depending on how nice it is. Caribbean worm rock is 6-8. I was at a LFS in Cincy yesterday, they have crappy fiji rock for 14.99. I was LMAO when I saw it. It is a crappy store anyway, probably won't stop in there any more. They had a 4 foot nurse shark in the equivalent of a 120 gallon tank. They also had a crap load of mushrooms, on small rocks, ranging from 29.99 to 49.99 per rock, biggest pieces were softball sized rocks, all labeled as coral rock!
