I know this has been asked before here it goes again.

what or how would you hook this system up? the tank is a 200 gal with 2-2in drains and 2-1in returns. the sump has 2-1in and 1-1- 1 1/2 bulkheads 1 is going to run a MAK4 pump to the chiller about 5ft away and return back to the sump, the other bulkhead will be runing a Blueline HD55 pump feeding a skimmer, the 1 1/2 in bulkhead is going to have a Dolphine ampmaster 3000 sending water back to the tank through the 2-1 in returns or should I split them into 4 -3/4 returns?
there is also a closed loop system that is going to be fed by 2 T-4 pumps.
if any one thinks I should change the setup let me know

While 4 3/4" has a larger I.D. then 2 1", you'll also need more bends to plumb it which may negate its benefit. Either way, I think you'll do fine. If costs is a concern and you're planning on using sea swirls, 2 1" sea swirls is cheaper then 4 3/4".

For the closed loops, I'm not too sure about T-4 pumps. These pumps are definitely quite, small, and powerful, but their shafts are unprotected and exposed. This may lead to premature failure; strainers are probably only going to postpone the problem. I've had multiple T-4 pumps fail on me, and those were used for return purposes from the sump (not closed circ).

BTW, why return the chiller water back to the sump? It's a better idea to just return it to the tank. It adds additional circulation, and mixes the temperatures better. When I plumbed my chiller pump back to the sump, I noticed the sump was always a bit cooler then the main tank.

I have read about the T-4 freezing on reef tanks regretfully that was after I purchesed them, I hope they at least last a year. I will also try and return the water back to the tank if the drains can handle the extra water.
