E. Quadricolor and Amphiprion Percula

I was just wondering if anyone has these two and if they are hosting?

I believe NKT does. It took his a LONG time to adopt the anemone though. I'm sure he'll chime in if this is the case.

I've seen too many A.percular take up LPS corals as hosts over anemones

what are some common LPS corals that they would host? plate coral?

Ok, anyone have the quad and percs in the same tank and the clows simply ignore the anemone?

Yeah, len's right. My black perc (well, technically it's an ocellaris) took many months to adopt the rose bta in my tank. Maybe four or five months, I think. For months I watched in frustration as it adopted any number of hosts, ranging from the euphyllia, to ricordea, and even a leather. It just takes some patience...perhaps feeding near the anemone helps a little bit.

However since perc/ocellaris are not natural hosts to BTA's it's definitely a calculated risk that you're taking. They may not end up together at all, so that's definitely a possibility to consider. Good luck!

ok well now i might be considering going back to my original thought and get a h. magnifica (ritteri). just curious though which LPS do percs take to?

I very strongly advise against getting a H. magnifica solely for your clown's benefit. They are very, very difficult to keep. It would be much easier to find a suitable clown for the hardy BTA. There are several clowns that naturally host in them.

I've seen or heard of percs hosting in goniopora, euphyllia (hammer, torch, frogspawn, bubble), even in xenia. They seem to like the tactile stimulation of tentacles against their bodies.

My tank-raised A. perculas went to a tank-propagated E. quad. anemone within 24 hours. They don't seem as attached to it as my maroons are to theirs (different aquarium, parent anemone). But they definitely like it and sleep in it at night too.

HI, IV'VE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS PATRIOT UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. THE QUAD HAS SPLIT TWICE SO IT'S FUN TO WATCH THE WAY THE CLOWNS SPLIT THEIR TIME IN EACH
