hi guys, well i just recieved my aquaC remora skimmer and it sounds really loud to me for some reason. most of the noise is coming from the spray. is it suppose to be that loud? or would it quiet down once the skimmer is broken in?

By loud, how loud is it? I should make some audible noise since it's a pressure spray, but it shouldn't be disturbingly loud IME. WHat type of noise is it?

it has a loud "psssst" kind of sound. about 3 or 4 times as loud as a fizzing soda pop. would i need to adjust the screw on the spray or something?

Yeah, I recommend you tighten down the screw a bit. It makes a difference in noise level, but make sure it doesn't compromise the air output too greatly. Don't screw it down so far that the screw falls in :P

messing with the screw didn't do much for the noise, but i did get it to quiet down a little bit by making sure the rubber seal on the collection cup made a tighter connection with the skimmer. i guess i'm just not use to the spraying noise, thanks for your help

I have the Remora Pro, and it has not quieted down any.

Since I play Acoustic and would like to hear what I am playing, I put it under the tank, hanging on the sump.

Yes, If I had had a sump when I bought it I would of bought the one designed for sumps.
