I am setting up a new tank and am using the diamond Lumanarc 3 reflectors that were custom made for my 400wt HQI bulbs. These reflectors have a glass lense to enclose them and a 4" port on each side to basically push/suck the hot air out. I am planning on venting the hot air to the outdside which should keep the tank temp down and allow the bulbs closer to the water.

What I am looking for is a good, quiet fan for this that I can hook up three reflectors and possible a 4th. I was told to use a squirrel fan for this.

Im looking for links and recomendations.

This tank will have a grow out system and will be in a dedicated fish room so I also want to put a couple bathroom vents in to suck out moisture and hot air also to the outside. Any recomendations on this.

I know someone has done this and want to do it the right way the first time.

Thanks
Tony

I just used computer fans on my hoods. lots of CFM's and low db's. (high air flow and low noise!)

Check out www.newegg.com for computer fans. I added them onto another order, so they were really cheap ($6) I have 3" enermax termocontrolled fans. No complaints.

I bought 2 of the icecap variable speed fans. You will pay a little extra for the "icecap" name but if are short on time, they are easy to get, have all of the "bits" that you need (power supply, thermocouple etc).. They are quiet and designed for the saltwater environment.

Icecap buys them from somewhere and you can probably save a few $ if you can find the original vendor.

hi.
I use the powersupply that used to house my $800 (1992 US dollars) Sony optical disk drive.

Nothing depreciate faster than outdated technologies :(
