Hi friends, i have this bugs all over my reef 8O . Here are some pics of what i though are Isopods. When lights are off this creatures came out to work, they look like ants moving around. Are this bugs a good source of food for my fishes ( 1 purple tang, a yellow tang and a pair of Pigme Angels). I loose a lot of Gobbies, it its true that this bugs use to eat fishes :? . I need to keep the control of this creatures, so did anyone know some fishes that like to eat this things :twisted:. The juvenil ones looks like Brine shrimps and transparent but the adults looks like a flea. Thanks in advance. Ralphyhp :wink:

My guess would be they are beneficial pods, likely copepods. Definitely a sign of a healthy reef and good food source for many fish. I think isopods are the bad ones that can attach themselves to fish and are a really gross menu item in vietnamese restaurants.

Dan thanks for help. So Amphipods are the answer. Do i need to feed them or they are ok with what they found in the system. Another thing i notice that they are growing, because i found their skeletons floating on the tank any day and my Purple tang like to eat this, are this ok.
