How mutch light over a 120....

I just got my lighting for my 120 tech tank,and I decided to go with two
250w reeflux 10k's in luminark pendants.Anthony at Reef Exotics mistakingly sent me the 400watt setup,witch I was also considering.
I plan on keeoing mostly sps,with some lps.It's going to be an open top tank,and I have an AC blowing right on it,so I don't think there will be any heat issues.
Witch setup would you go with,and why?...thanks Lou.....

I brought the same set up from tony (2x 250w 10k mini) over my 120 AGA I have no problems with lighting SPS. have them about 9" over the water.

Are they 400W DE or SE setups? I ran 400 SE for a few months and it was too much heat without a dedicated chiller.

They are single ended.My main concern is the heating issue...

250's should be plenty of light and the 400 is a bit an overkill.

Is the top open or are you going to mount the lights in a canopy?

i have 2 se 250..over my 120..with 4 vho..2 fans in canopy..and had a problem with heat but i invested in a chiller..now i have the problem with heat from the chillier in the summer but its all good

Oh well.I think I'm going with the 250's,even though it's an open top tank
I do pay for electricity!!!,and I think I can keep just about anything jusy fine under the 250's.:tub:
