Can anybody help figure out what this worm type thing is in my tank with the live rock? There are two of them. They are black and white in color. The black on them almost diamond shaped. They also seem to stretch to some great length compared to there normal body length. When they stretch, the very end of them look like they have some kind of feather duster look to them.Is this thing good or bad? Thanks ........

Might be hard to get a pic.Want to say this thing almost looks like a tape worm but is black and white in color. Almost looks like the tube to a fan worm but much smaller. It lseems to take refuge in the small holes in the live rock and man can it stretch.

If it's hanging out in your live rock it may actually be a type of echinoderm and not a worm - there is a common hitchiker star with stripes that occurs on indo pac live rock. I believe the family this star belo9ngs to is Amphuridae so possibly do a google on that or Amphiura and stars you may find some hits.
