Sahin- my sympathies. I had this algea (from my observations of it, it is NOT cyano) and tried EVERYTHINGG to get rid of it. Every snail(nassarius, turbo, astrea, bumble bee, trochus, queen conchs) and hermit(left handed, scarlet, zebra, blue-legged, reds) I could find wouldn't eat it. My purple tang wouldn't touch it. Lighting changes, water changes, increased skimming, manual harvesting, etc. Nothing. It always came back. It is part of the reason I got rid of my tank!

If you find something that works, my guess a magic bullet critter that will eat it, please let me know!

I can't say I've kept the best maitanance, so I think part of the problem is my high nitrates. But what I did was suffer a few days of dark. It might not be an option for your tank, but my anenome and various cuttings did just fine. Even the best spots have a few days of cloudy weather :)

At the end I've started to slowly ramp up my lighting again. The cyno was done in the main tank, but *poof* there it was in the refugium. So now I'm giving that couple days of dark as well. The main tank has seen a great increase in coralline growth since I turned the lights back on.

I'm going to get a queen conch just to keep it under control, as I feel like it will never totally die out.

In other new things are looking good in my 55gallon, not as good as my hands off 5gal nano, but still good.
