The new tank (an upgrade from my nano tank) is an Aquamedic Percula 90 (holds about 85G US). With 90lbs Aragamax sand and 90lbs of rocks. It will be a reef setup and I would like to keep the following fishes:

1x Yellow tang
2x Perc Clowns
1x Green Clown Goby
1x Six line wrasse
2x Orchid Dottybacks

Is this too much? I require the water parameters to be as good as possible for the corals and manage to keep a few nice fishes. What do you think?

Any input is appreciated.

Sounds fine to me. The percs, dottybacks, wrasse and goby are all small, so that should work out nicely.

I'd say you're fine, but I wouldn't add anything more than that. What are the dimensions of that tank?

Thanks for the replies.

The tank dimension is: 90x61x60 (cm)

I rushed my nano tank and although I was lucky and it was a success, at times I realised that I should have thought things through properly.

So thats why I am taking my time with this tank.
Thanks for the input.

Tank is too small, IMO for a yellow tang. You need 6' of length (180cm) for swimming room.

As for bioload- how much LR do you have? what kind of substrate? Skimmer? Other filtration?

careful dottybacks are territorial and may fight each other

I agree that such a tank is really too small for a tang. Before I came into the army I had a 70g with a yellow tang in it. He seemed cramped in there and I took him back to the store.
