my 3 mth old bta has moved to the underside of an overhang. it's been there for 2 weeks. The first week it would open up and show it self (it would extend out into the open) for several hour a day and them retreat back underneath. this past week it has stay under cover and is starting to look a little more withdrawn(deflated). I have another bta (2 mtn old) that is doing great. Can anyone tell me what's going on. Water parameter are all ok. Lighting: 3X 250 10k hqi MH w/ 2 -110watt actinics

thanks

If it was doing well before this incident, its very likely that its in the process of splitting.

I've read several times that they'll retreat before they split.. - You might be in luck, and if so..... - Wanna sell the clone?

I had a BTA that disappeared once - I assumed that it died and I always wondered what happened to it.
Some months later, I replaced it with another when I got a large Maroon Clown.
Much later, while changing a powerhead that died, I found it way under a ledge in the back of my 150. I pulled it off the rock and relocated it to the front of the tank. It moved a few times but finnally settled on a nice spot and has been great ever since.
The BTA had been gone and hiding under the ledge for 14 months with little chance for much light. It has now been back for about 6 months.
The Clown now darts back and forth as he takes care of them both.
