Which synthetic salt would you most like to see tested by Inland Reef first? Inland will test the salts according to members' feedback. Your participation in this poll is greatly appreciated.

Please refer to the following thread for updated information about the Salt Study: http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=38052. Background information about the Study can be found here.

Now taking bids on the timeframe for the "start to finish" of this test. I do beleive last time it was a bit of a fiasco.

Why don't you start a separate poll for that Dragoon. :)

No, all kidding aside, the salt study is rolling.

Cheers

To be a little more detailed, we will be posting a schedule of upcoming auctions and raffles within a few days. The auctions/raffles will commence shortly after, and upon completion of these charity events, the study itself will begin. There is no concrete timeframe as we can not predict future charity donations that we may be receiving in the coming weeks, but as james put it, "the salt study is [definitely] rolling."

Rob -

We will do at least 2 batches of each salt to check consistancy. We would prefer three, but the funding just isn't there for that.

The first batch of I.O. is from April of this year, the second will be grabbed off our shelves when the testing starts, so it will be as recent as possible.

Great. I can also send someone some of my salt to test if wanted.

The issue isn't the salt samples, but the fees for the testing itself. At $280 per test, we just can't do as many as we would like...

Thanks anyway!

Is it possible that maybe we post another poll so we can vote on a second choice. Possibly taking the top 3 off and leaving the others? Not too sure how many samples you are going to test. But, this may provide you with a greater depth of what us hobbiest would like to see tested vs voting just for what we use.

I see that IO Reef Crystals has 3 votes. But, I wanted to vote for that as my second. It would be very nice to be able to see an actual comparison of these two products.

Ditto on this! The pol should've given us opportunity to vote on more than one salt. We want to see COMPARISON!
