I have a FOWLR 120Gal. and I notice alot of green covering the rocks. I have over 300 assorted snails nassirus, astrea, cyano, turbo, cerith, and crabs blue leg, zebra, 3 brittle starfish, 1 sandsifting starfish, 3 emerald crabs, You won't see all the snails/crabs in this photo since I took this photo earlier. What else will rid the tank of green on the rocks? I do a weekly water change water levels are excellent.

Great looking rock work. Love the pbt, and the little angel.

How old is your set up? Are you using ro/di? What is your photo period like? Is your tank facing a window? What sort of filtration do you have?
What are your parameters?

It all depends on how long a photoperiod you have on your tank as well. You just might be balancing it out. Which is great.:wink1:

How often are you cleaning your glass? Just curious.

cyano algae or are you referring to part of your cleaner crew?

My rock turned bright green and stayed that way for about 3 months. It wasn't slimy algae though - more chalky feeling. I also get tons of natural light.

I can't wait for it to turn purple. I was just curious if this was a bad sign or good. Parameters I do not have the numbers handy since I ran numerous tests to make sure they came the same but I tested the water and all levels were in the correct range according to tests, No PHosphates, NO Nitrates, PH was normal, Calcium was good, no Ammonia, If you search for my other posts I have my filtration setup I can post pics later. No dirtect sunlight.
