I am done with Mag pumps, and i mean DONE with them. i have a pile of dead mag pumps and will never, ever buy another Mag pump. Not just one model either, i have a 5, 7, 9.5 and many 12's that are dead. Two days before vacation my wife called "the 29 gallon is not running". I came home from work and looked at the tank, the pump had stopped. I opened it up and the housing had worn oval as most do, right where the impeller goes into the housing. Well that is no problem, i keep stock in them since they seem to have to be replaced every year it seems. I put it all back together and NADA. I open it back up and notice the cavity where the impeller goes in has a crack running all the way around it, water in the pump. This pump is 3 years old and there is no excuse for it. Anyway i am done with Mag and need another pump for my 29 gallon to recirculate water. I just got a new sump from Jeff's today and want a pump to go in there. I do not want a Rio either, i have on of those in there now until i get a replacement. It's no better, every time the power goes out it does not start back up. Does anyone recommend Eheim and do they make a pump that would circulate the 29 gallon. Here is a pick of the sump i got if anyone cares.

I can confidently endorse Eheim pumps. The Eheim 1060 is what you're looking for.

Why not an inline pump like an Iwaki? they never break.

hi.
Eheim definite is a much better pump than Mag, but at a price. Iwaki is also a good suggestion. If you have a small tank, use Eheim, but for larger tank with good circulation, get the Iwaki instead.

I am running two Sen900's on my 60, and with no problems. And one of the good things about them is they can be used internal and external.

Where'd you get that sump? Is "Jeff's" online? I'm looking for something like that for my 110 gallon...

Peace,

Chip

Ok Eheim it is, yes it came from www.exoticfish.com and i am very pleased with it for the price. Question for you guys, can i run that poly bag and sponge all the time or does that cause high nitrates ?

I cannot run an exterior pump on my 29 gallon, as it is i will have to cut the stand to fit this guy in there.

Do they cause any problems though, the poly bag ? And also what about the sponge block should i remove it or leave it in ?

You might want to check the dimension of the Eheim pump to make sure it fits your return chamber. Eheim 1262 can do more then 800 GPH. Eheim 1260 can do about 600 GPH. Give a take a few GPH.

1) Pump by itself will have the smallest dimension
2) Pump w/ a base attached will have a larger dimension then #1
3) Pump w/ a base attached & rubber feets will have a larger dimension then #1, #2

Hi

Do you have DELTEC pumps in America.

Those are German pumps, best I've ever used.

For Eheim 1060, they never break, I have 2 for over 10years 24hrs work.

Iwaki are quite good as well.

From my experience DELTEC are the best.

Try Eheim.com If you can't find it, email me and I'll pull out mine to measure it for you. I only have the 1260, not the 1262 I don't think
