Just recently purchased some shrooms and after 4 days they are not looking to well. I am thinking my lighting is to much; dual 175w 10k MH's and the aquarium is 21" deep with the lights 5 inches off of the water line.
Any thoughts?

They where about mid level..now on the bottom. Most of them are all shreveled up and starting to detach from their rock. I like shrooms and really want to keep a good lott of them, so I am willing to remove my MH's in order to do so, if the MH's are the problem.

No, I doubt MH are the problem. I have a fair few mushrooms in my tank. It is lit by 2 150W MH. My tank is 24 high and the shrooms are over half way up the rock and they are just fine. What are your other water parameters?

how bout acclimation??? Did you just dump them in or did you slowly acclimate them. I think that would be tha case if they are going bad so fast

Mushies also need to acclimitise to the lighting not just the tank`s water..
Cut down the light time period and gradually increase back over some weeks. You may be blasting them with the light currently, therefore they are detaching trying to find better conditions.

Yes they need to be acclimatised to the light. I would not cut down the light time period as this will affect the other fish. Instead, just put them right at the bottom then slowly move them up. You need to be more specific when you say water parameters are fine, no one can help you if they don't know the conditions in your tank.
