I want to buy a refractometer and found 2 of them online and was wondering what one is the better unit.

Contestant number 1 is the captive purity refractometer that marine depot has for sale.

Contestant number 2 is the Premium Aquatics Refractometer that they sell on their web site.

The prices are similar and I was wondering if anyone who has used or has seen both of these could drop a note and let me know what one I should go with.

IMO the only thing that seperates refractometers is the auto temp calibration feature, which I think is very important. I Got the first one from marinedepot and I am very happy with it.HTH

ATC (c is usually for compensation...) is usually implemented as a metal strip that move the prism in the refractometer back and forth, as it expand/contract due to temperature variation.

Take a look at the refractometer power buy for premium aquatics. You save ten bucks on the regular price AND shipping is free, so you save like 15 bucks. 49.99 including shipping and it has ATC.
