In the recent catalog from Docs Foster and Smith, they have a nice 2 page spread on how to set up a reef. Step one is divided up into 7 parts, they go something like this (paraphrasing):
1. pour sand into aquarium
2. arrange live rock
3. fill aquarium with dechlorinated water
4. add salt and mix
5. install heater and hood
6. set lights on timer
7. wait 4 weeks before next step
8O kinda hard on the live rock, a freshwater dip?
