T5's

So has anyone had any expirience with em yet, are they really all there cracked up to be?

i use metal halide for more then 10 years
with my new aquarium (1.5 month old 700 liter) i try the t5
iv got 4 t5 6500k 54 watt and 4 t520000k 54 watt
im amaze by the growing of my sps and the color of them is realy nice

Are T5's suppose to be better than PC lights?

Yes. I have a 6 bulb fixture over a 125 at the shop that is underneath a tank that is lit by 2x250 DE's. They both look almost exactly the same.

Rover do you keep sps under the 6 quite well as i would only be looking at four (an arcadia T5 luminaire) also what do you think about the possiblity of keeping tridacnids under four T5 tubes ?

What makes a T5 any better than a CF or VHO? Aren't all flourescents fundamentally the same technology, and don't they have all the same limitations? (spectrum, etc.)
