gonna start a new 29g FOWLR..(water filling?)

Does anyone see a problem with putting in 10g-15g of my 55g water and then filling the remaining with new RO/DI SW? Does this give me any ill affects, or is it beneficial? For substrate I am gonna use 3 bags of wet Agra-Live and then 1-2 bags of Southdown.

I did it.....but I used well water instead of R/O. No problems at all.

I started up a 40 gal FOWLR a few months ago and used about 20 gallons from my 2 other tanks....I also used a lot of seed sand from the tanks and all cure live rock......I barely had any noticable cycle at all.

I just moved my tank to a temporary home downstairs and used 100% fresh mixed RO/DI & IO.

I basically just pitched all my existing tank water, dropped the rock directly into a temporary tank, acclimated everything else to the tempory tank and dropped them in too.

I brought the old tank with it's sandbed downstairs too and will be shifting everything back over once I have enough water again.

It's been 4 days now since the move and everything is doing great. (My xenia actually seem a little happier..)
