Dear Chris:
What a beautifully coloured shrimp in the picture that you attached to your e-mail. Unfortunately very few disease of shrimp can be diagnosed by viewing the external surface of shrimp and effective treatments (if any are available) can only be prescribed if the cause of the disease can be identified. Unfortunately our laboratory does not have the capacity to examine aquarium (pet) animals. If the shrimp are of significant value to you and the disease is significant to your operation, I suggest that you contact the research team at the University of Arizona which has been working on shrimp disease for many years. For further information, I suggest you contact the head of the team, Dr. Don Lightner or one of his colleagues at: Department of Veterinary Science. The University of Arizona, Building 90, Room 202, Tucson Arizona 85721, USA, phone: 520-621-8414, FAX: 520-621-4899, e-mail: [email protected].
Yours sincerely
Susan
