I'm a relatively new reefkeeper, doing my reading, and watching my tank begin to mature, but I had an interesting thought to which I have found no answer...
Do any of you try to simulate the timecycles of the tides in your tanks? As a fisherman, I know the importance of the relation of the tides to a fish's feeding habits- for most species, moving water is chow time, slack water is rest time.
Do any of you cycle a few powerheads for three (roughly) hours from one direction, then maybe an hour to an hour and a half of slack, then back to three hours of movement from the opposite direction, followed by another slack?
Just a thought, interested to see if anyone has any input. Any know of any articles out there regarding this idea? I seem to be doing a lot of thinking while staring at the tank...
