BTA tore itself! Need advice

I came in just a little while ago and found my BTA trying to retract into its crevice. He has been doing wonderfuly and seemed to be very happy with his chosen location. Apparently during his retraction, he got part of his disk caught on the live rock. It didn't tea through him, but he does have a loop on the edge of his disk. Is there anything that I can or should do? Is this a death sentence, or will he repair himself? Thanks for any help!

Possibly nevemind. It looks like I might hve two BTAs! Went from about a 7-8" disk ti what looks like 2 smaller ones.

Sounds like a normal split to me,,, it's never pretty. lol
