Hi
It has now been several months i've beeb strugling with small bubbles entering the tank. The bubbles are generated by the skimmer. The bubbles are less than 1mm in diameter making them very slow in reaching the surface in the sump. I have tried making a bubblebaffle, much like this:

Still there is plenty of bubbles all over my system.
When you setup a new tank you are properbly familiar with the fact that small bubbles will form everywhere inside the tank (on the glass/akrylic). This is due to small electrical charges on the glass/akrylic (as far as i remember). In fact these bubbles will attach surface inside the tank. When small bubbles have attached all over the inside-surface they will begin to "melt together" resulting in larger bubbles. The elektrical charges holding them to the surfaces, will soon be poor compared to the updrift. The result is that the bubbles will move to the surface of the water and dissapear. This is only common in newly setup tanks. The reason to that must be that there is a change in the elektrical potential of the tank material as time goes.
My idear is that if it is possible to mantain the elektrical potential on some titanium boards, using some proper power supply. This would be like a elektrolysis i think. Only problem would of course be that charged ion's will settle on the titanium boards (like ex. CA+). Hmmmm, Has anyone got any idea if this would be of any use?
Are anyone familiar with another "bubbletrap"-system which is effective?
Hope you have some ideas :D
By the way, this is the skimmer causing the bubble-problem:
