There is some brown slime algae growing on ,my rock. It isn't everywhere, but it seems to be spreading a little. What is it, and is it bad? I have also noticed manykinds of 'stuff', including one that grows like a step fungus and looks like a clamshell in shape. What is THIS!?!?

The one that looks like a fungus-step-clamshell is a type of calcareous algae. Good stuff, looks neat. the brown slime is most likely cyanobacteria, or "Red Slime Algae" (misnomer).

Is your tank quite new? It's super common in new tanks, and usually goes away after a few months with attention to water changes.
