I go to school in Santa Barbara and I have a LFS that I use on a regular basis but wanted to compare this to anyother LFS that people use and think are good. I can easily get to a LFS here in SB or drive to LA. I also travel to the bay area often to go back home so any LFS there would be good too. Just let me know what your favorite one is in the area so I can check it out and see if the one here is all that good. Thanks for the info
Sincerely
Derek

if you are going to LA try aquatic outlet, it is right by LAX, www.aquaticoutlet.com it is a huge warehouse with a ton of stuff. Address is 417 W. Hindry in Inglewood.

I work in SB, do you go to city college or UC? I'm a UCSB grad.

Good luck.

If you're in the bay area go to Nippon Fish in SF, great store. I think it's on clement and something. I'm not sure about the actual address though, i bet you could look it up in a phone book.

Thanks for all the replies.
Djheywood I am at the UC nice to know a fellow graduate. What do you do in SB if you dont mind me asking. As for The Ocean Floor that is where I got my tank and the LFS that I currently use I just wanted to compare it to some others that people thought were good. I think the ocean floor is the best fish store around the SB area so far that I have found
Thanks again
Sincerely

Hey Shy07guy. I'm in Ventura. If you find a good LFS please let me know. Thus far I have been limited to Tats in Ventura and Fins in Camarillo. Both are OK but not great.

Hey Derek, I am a senior at UCSB and just setup a reef tank. I think for our SB stores Ocean Floor and Aquatic Gardens downtown are the best. AG is a little cheaper than Ocean Floor. Aquatic Designs on turnpike has some saltwater stuff but the quality isn't as good. They have the cheapest saltmix though. I went down to exotic fish in Gardena last weekend and was a little disappointed. It was a big place, but it didn't have the selection I thought they would. Their website is awesome, lists tons of stuff for pretty good prices, but the actual stuff they have on hand down there is only like a 4th of what they list online. I wanted to get caribbean fish and they didnt have any. They have a bunch of the more common fish though, so if you aren't looking for anything too obscure you should call down there and see if they have what you want. If you check out any of the places south of here towards LA let me know how they are. I might check out the one in camarillo or by LAX next time I go home to LA, so if I do I'll let you know.

djheywood, as a cop in SB might I have seen you at in n out off turnpike? I work there...and I'm sure you know by now but we give police discounts...
