I know it is seems cheap and that is what scares me.The old saying you get what you pay for.But it is something I have been wanting to get now for a while and trying to live on disability has'nt made thing to easy.Anyway.............I might be able to swing this it seems to have the standard size filters so replacements should'nt be to big of a deal.......but I have never owned one so somebody with some knowledge of these could steer this old man in the right direction I would much appreciate it.

Yea I checked his feedback nothing to worry about there. Some guy gave him a negative because he was the dummy that paid 8 bucks for a plumbing piece you can get at lowes or home depot for a buck.......I thought that was funny. I put in my bid and see how it goes. Thanks for all the replys :)

I brought one from ebay. but the guy I got it from is from Canada he should pop when your searching for these. He has a higher quality DI filter. I got mine a 100GPH with a 3gallon tank for $100 including shipping. A lot cheaper than name brand stuff and it works great. Make sure you get a TDS meter its worth the money.

Do you have a link for the guy from Canada? I'm in Canada and it'd be better for me to buy here then paying duties at the border.

Hey all I need a little help aboout this ro/di stuff since I am new to it and all.
My tap has a tds of around 125 after running through this 6 stage ro/di I get a tds reading of 3 to 4.I feel I should get a zero reading with such a low tap water reading what do ya'll think? I decided to check out the tds of the waste water just for the hell of it.I got a tds reading of 178 that totally blew my mind!!! 8O Why would I get a reading HIGHER than my tap water????? Do I have this thing hooked up backwards or something? I would greatly appreciate any and all help :)
Thank You!

I had the same problem at first, make sure you run the unit for a while to flush the membrane. This happened to me when i got mine from filterdirect. Waste about 2 gallons in a container and test as it goes. Mine gets down to 2-5 TDS. That is my key. Also i reseated the DI filter to.

3 to 4 after filtration seems high to me.

I have a 3-stage RO/DI and my TDS is 1 or 2,, depending which TDS meter I use. My tap water is about 140 before filtering.

The higher reading on the waste water is because the dissolved solids are concentrated in a smaller volume of water,,, not everything is removed by the filters I guess!

Did you run a few gallons through the filter to 'break it in'?

Yea I actually ran about 10 gallons through it to break it in.I would think the waste water should have a lower reading than your tap water but I am no expert but that seems to be logical to me.I can't imagine why you would feed a filter a low tds water supply and the waste water would be at a higher valvue.......................that I don't get...............something has got to be wrong.I would think the only way the waste water would be higher is if the filters sucked and made the water worse and that is why I am not getting a zero reading on the output.
