My lawnmower blenny has been pretending he is another clown. He sits in my pink leather and cuddles with it and defends it.

Anyone else seen behavior like this before?

He even grabs the nori i put in the tank, takes it back to the leather and sits on it. i have pictures i may post later.

LB's definately win the personality contest.

I had a lawnmower blenny that tried to clown up with a leather. I would just shoo him off of it and he eventually stopped. My leather wasn't too happy with him for that so I'm glad he stopped :D

I had a yellow-tail damsel that hosted in a BTA,, never hear of a lawnmower blenny hosting,,, especially feeding the host too,, that's definitely a new one on me.

Are there clowns in your tank that he could be mimicking? Though for the life of me I can't think why he would.

Would really like to see pictures of this!

I too used to have a maroon clown! I no longer have the clown though, maybe thats why my blenny stopped as well...

Crazy, well theres at least 2 of these very personable blennies! :D

I keep hearing what great personalities these Blennies have,,, I wish I could get one but my 75 and 90 both have Scooter's ,,, I know they're not really blennies but would probably still be a recipe for disaster.

Sounds like an excuse for another tank to me.

i forgot to meantion i also have a yellow watchman gobie. watchman indeed. he sits there by his little cave by the front of the glass and watches my girlfriend and i. the most entertaining part is while hes watching he chews the sand like popcorn. its really funny. my girlfriend is convinced we're his TV.

Here's mine. He's always done this. The leather is large enough that he moves around and isn't bothering any part of it for too long, so it hasn't been an issue. Cute little bugger. I'm not sure it's a host-type relationship though. It's probably just the best lookout point in the tank.

He cleans off any sediment or leftover food on it too, so I think he may even be a little beneficial.

I had a hermit crab that lived on this leather too. but blenny's been perched in there for a couple of years now.
