Hi guys,

I was just wondering what you guys thought about this. I have a Bak Pak II Skimmer that had biobale in it. I was just wondering whether it might be good to put some caulerpa or other macro algae in it just to help out with nutrient removal. I guess I would set up a light to stand on end to give the algae light. Just trying to think of a way to save space. Do you think pods would survive in there? I was just thinking they may not get enough to eat with the water being skimmed. Thoughts please?

Thanks.

That is a disaster waiting to happen! I vote no because:

1) When your Bakpak gets clogged with macro and overflows water all over your floor you will be hating life!

2) Not worth it simply because there isn't alot of room in the biobale section. You want a little more room to grow out your macro.

I would suggest getting an aquafuge, I got a really cheap factory second at ameekaaquatics.com. Was only like 70 bucks I think? Either that or you can explore sump/fuge combos....
