It's a 65 W flourescent light.

Sure, stretching things a touch, it might be as much use as a 500 W incandescant (eg a regular household light, which is really a heater that glows a bit.....)

But NOBODY rates aquarium lights relative to incandescants. Flouros and halides are far far more efficient.

The guy is misleading and struggling to stay the right side of the law. Don't touch with a bargepole, or three. It's not a case of "you get what you pay for", here it's a case of you get what he can sucker you for.

You could do a lot worse for $34.99, but it's definitely not display tank material. It might make a decent sump light, though.

Actually these are great lights to use on your fuge and most wal-marts and Home-depots carry them for around 20 bucks.I use to of them on my fuge and they work great. The bulb has is a 65k puts out a decent amount of light and like I said is great for a fuge and you can't beat the price. That guy on e-bay is screwing people. He is'nt the only person selling them I saw a different auction from a different seller for the same light selling 4 of these" Incredible lights for the low low price of only $179.95 and your corals wil love you for it"
Get one at wally world put it on your fuge they work great for that!
