Has anyone used an acrylic divider to partion off a section of the tank. We are installing a 1200gl tank. I want to replicate the look natural look when you scuba dive or snorkel. Reef in a 1/3 of the tank, then gradual rock drop off to open sand bottom. Thus, having the reef in the right 1/3, then the partion, and finally adding a little bit to rock on the other side of the acrylic to give the effect of the reef drop off. The goal is to keep non-reef safe fish in the open 2/3's and the coral safe on the other side.

Yes, it has been done on many, many occusions.

But depends on your tank top bracket, it can be a real pain to add the divider afterward. You also have to add it so that it can be escape-proof so that the nasty fish will not jump across to the other side.
