tempers flair, people get out of line with hteir words. LordNIkon was out of line with his comments, but I believe he was lashing out at those who were ganging up on him. I saw the thread in question from the begining. Offering advice is different than criticizing, and their comments were not made in a constructive manner. We all make mistakes. My first coral was a galaxy coral. I made a mistake in choices. But if it works, whatever. Hope you all are 2 cents richer 8)

I'd like to mention something about the Catalina gobies. Current "wisdom" holds that they are a temperate species (there is a difference between temperate and coldwater species), however, this completely discounts the fact that many are collected in the southern regions of Baja California. Those waters can regularly reach the low 70s Fahrenheit. This would mean that not only is it entirely possible that he's acquired one of these animals, but knowing the state of collection of marine species as governed by the State of California, it is most likely.

Yes, I registered just to reply to this. Sad, I know.

Turtle's a guy, and not a regular chat mod. Just a "when chris is playful" chat mod. Frankly, I haven't seen him as a mod much at all.

tiny, your perception of the chat is slightly skewed due to the fact that you visit it ONCE A YEAR on NR's birthday. hey, can you blame us for getting all excited and kicking you around a bit?

and for what it's worth, there is only one registered chat moderator aside from chris--that guy "gil." and how often does gil peek in? maybe a few hours in the evening. val-vern is an auto-op, but never uses its (i mean "their") privileges in #nr--i think it's more for the RAG channel.

oh since it's been officially declared that there will be no name calling in this thread...

RDO tolerates them and even welcomes them as black sheep, NR moderates their threads, and RC eliminates their history and pretends they never existed.

I do not make any assumptions about RDO except that I am looking forward to it, and you simply say that myself and others aren't helpful over there? Yes, this is the ignorance I was talking about.... How can you comment on something you don't know about? You didn't show up at the thread till after the nasty comment were cut out. I would say to all , to read everything someone says 2 times, think about it negative, and think about it positive, which do you really think they meant?

LOL... Anyways, who said something about nano owners being poorer... I make enough money to own a damn 240 if I wanted to handle the stress, problems and maintainence that goes with it. I started my nano before I started my 80G. The 80G is awesome but I like the nano more. I think there is something about the intimacy, you almost get to know every pod

Your thread title was Micro barrier reef, A barrier reef is a VIOLENT ocean environment and a tunze 6000 would be more appropriate in your situation if that is what you want to acheive. You may think I was joking, but my post was absolutley serious and not harsh. I theoretically am running over 4000 GPH in my 80 G and wish I could put more in there Not one person said you were stupid. You may have read it into their posts, but it was not intended.... Again, No ill will man, and regarding the PM issue, I simply wanted to let everyone know you aren't really the saint , judge , and jury you made yourself out to be. You were in there with guns blazing when everyone else still ahd them in the holsters...
Nano-Reef.com is a great place for specialized info regarding those tank sizes. I know that there are 13 year olds in school, and there are 31 year olds who make a million dollars a year , all of which who post there....... what I always do like I said, is read every post 2 times before I reply. I will not say sorry for dishing out correct and helpful information, People can get offended, 'nuff said.

It wasn't hard to learn all about you and your forum. It only took 1-2 minutes worth of reading and too see your remarks as well as others. Your correct, I did logon and leave. I'm sure that I am not the first nor the last person to sign up for an account there, sign on once or twice and then leave.

It's kind of funny how you said " to post in his defense" as if it was a bad thing. Are you really meaning this as a slam that someone would try and help a fellow reefer when a bunch of pricks are bashing them? Kinda funny how your brave when you all gang up on one person but you try to act civil when your not with a posse in tow :wink: .
