I've been crawling the web trying to find a pair of Banggai's that were captive born and raised, and so far Inland Aquatics is the only one I've found. Still waiting to a reply on my email about availablitly. Does anyone know of any other sources? I'd hate to have buy 3 and hope two will form a pair, mainly because the third one will get beat up if I"m not around to save it. I figure enough fish die from capture, shipping, etc. that I don't need to add to it.

I really can't tell the males from the females. I don't know for sure if there is a way to tell, I would like to know myself. If you got a small group of them, I'm sure they would pair up themselves. I don't anyone who sells mated pairs.

If you have a big enough tank, you should be fine getting 3 or 4. Once you find a pair forms, you could sell the other two to a LFS...

Hopefully I can get a good breeding pair to help lower the need for fish stores in my area ordering wild caught.

The latest saga with this poor fish is they are apparently now being collected with cyanide. IMO anyone trying to save 5$ buying this fish wild caught should be shot.
