now that i look closly at the pcture, it looks fake, the reflections dont match up, can you please proove me wrong and post some more pics.

LOLz................

I second that view. The colour of the fishes & SPS looks so unreal.

Achilles Tang, did you photoshop your pic ie increase your colour hue & blue gamma. I guess all of us here would appreciate a more natural look tank/coral shot. My job is an media reporter which include heavy modification of pics which block off certain things that we deemed not suitable for general public to read, for example a accident scene with blood splattered all over the place

All of us will be grateful if you could show the original pic rather than a simulated reef pics.

Or rather do the reefers in general in that part of your world like their pics to be heavily edited?

Admitedly, I have to use photoshop to bring the colours close to what the eye sees.

I have 2 x 400 Iwasakis and 2 x 400 Radiums (now Ushio Blue) that makes digital photo-taking a pain.

The sakis (placed at the back) are so bright that they wash out a lot of colours with the glare and thus I have to bring down the exposure. The blue bulbs (placed in the front) are so blue that its impossible to take a good photo.

Combined, the effect is diminished but to prevent overexposure due to the saki's brightness and the blue bulbs' blueness ( ), I had to shoot in such a way that I don't have white overexposed areas yet try to keep some contrast and colour.

I am using a Canon G2. I'm still learning to shoot my tank so any tips will be welcomed! :)

Don't worry, I don't GARF my shots....

Some of my clams. Too lazy to remove the aiptasia off the shells. Hoping my peppermint shrimps will do their work. So far, they seem to be extremely shy wondering out into the sandbed.... :)

I don't see any more aiptasia on my liverocks! :D

How did you take the underwater shot?

Nice tank!

Hi James,

I use the same underwater camera casing I use for my diving trips to shoot inside my tank! :) I am using a Canon G2 camera in an Ikelite underwater casing.

I took this shot just last week!

Sipadan is in Sabah, East Malaysia. That was the place where the infamous Abu Sayaff terrorists kidnapped quite a large number of european divers and tourists for ransom.

The Malaysian government has a very strong naval and coastal police presence there now to prevent this from ever happening again.

Sipadan is amongst the world's top 5 diving sites... just do a search on Yahoo and you'll find a myriad of information praising that place to high heaven as the mecca of dive spots!

You'll find hammerhead sharks, manta rays, whale sharks to anthias, many species of nudibranchs, PLENTY of turtles, and many other marine species.... it's a diver's paradise!
