I've been told this is a colt coral, carnation coral, leather finger coral etc.....the list goes on and on. I'm hoping you folks can help me nail down an ID on the pink giant.

Not sure. It looks like Sinularia to me at first glance, but that's really just a guess. It is definitely NOT a carnation coral (Dendronephthya).

The purple gorg is Pseudopterogorgia bipinnata.

Never seen a pink Sinularia or Nepthia, maybe it's been dyed.

I second, looks like a colt behind it, but would need a better pic to be sure.

The pink color may just be a quirk with the camera; otherwise I agree with you and believe it's dyed.

the pink one is mostly called "Fuzzy Finger leather" around here.
It is a Sinularia.

It should be a bit more firm than the colt in the background.

I got stung on a fish order w/ the dyed corals before. 3 pink/purple Sinularia. None of them lasted over 3 months. I have never really had any trouble w/ Sinularia much before. Keep a good eye on it.

Any way you can get a close-up picture of the polyps of the one in question? It's too far away in the pic to get an accurate ID.
