I just recieved my Euro Reef ES 6-2+ yesterday  . Now i know why they are so expensive, the custom packaging is incredible. I bet you can drop the box from ten stories and skimmer will not get damaged.

If you like the packaging, you'll love the performance :) My Euro-reef is a workhorse.

i didn't know they were making larger e-series!

i would have bought something bigger than the 5-3 if it were available at the time. oh well, it's probably better this way, what i bought seems more than sufficient.

I have to admit, the euroreef works better than my ETSS.....and a whole lot cheaper to run

I love my euro reef. I have one on my 72, and now will have one on my 80 gal. Euro Reef all the way. If I could afford it, I would have bought one for my 135 gal. But I have to settle, for my old Burlin skimmer still good just not a Euro Reef. :D

How long does it take for the Euro Reef to produce any skimmate? I've had the 6-2+ running since Weds. with no luck. The collection cup neck is covered with stuff, but nothing is overflowing into to cup. I have it skimming a 75gal with 90lbs of LR, one purple tang, two common clowns, one bi-color blenny, bubble coral and a leather coral. I feed once a day.

it took mine a long time to break in, i would say a week.
i think it may be due to the oily residue that was on the riser pipe, it may have been on the inside too.
i don't know if this was a lubricant or maybe remnants of a process used in o-ring or pump production but i definately remember noting it.

Speaking of ERs...
They now have external models, like this one. I just might have to finally get one... since I don't have room in my sump without reworking it.
