hello, im building a 36 bow frront reef and i was thinking of course of the lightining, i only want to keep softies in it im not into clams and sps, question is im thinking of putting 4 "24" vho bulbs on it for lighting the tank is 21 iches high. i really like the light they put off. I personaly dont like pc,s and before i spend my money would this lighting be sufficent? or should i get a halide/vho ect? ive been reserching for a week now and im really confused. the corals i mainly like are button poylps, leathers , some ricodea, colts, shrooms, green star, ect i know these corals are low light and easy to keep but would i regret it if i went and bought the vho's. If anyone has any experience with vho's it would be great to hear from them......................brian

ALLWAYS better to have a little more light than you need than to come up just a little short.

I keep mostly the kind of stuff you want, a few LPS, a BTA and even a few "easy" SPSs. My tank is a 33g, but is shorter than 21 inches & I have 130 watts of PC. I plan to add another 96 watts soon which will put me where I want to be... for now.

As I recall 24" VHO bulbs put out 75 watts each?

Pleanty more than you'd need (3 might do the job) but again I suggest more than you need.
