I'm thinking about buying a new over the back skimmer because I have trouble with hair algea. I'm looking at the Aqua C Remora Pro.

Does anyone have suggestions?

ETSS all the way...you are fixin to be bombarded with opinions of different skimmers. I am sure all that will be mentioned are very good. It is just a matter of personal choice.

I love my ETSS Reefdevil. It pulls skimmate that is black as the ace of spades, it looks like coffe, or used deisel oil.

i assume "over the back" is referring to a hang on tank (HOT) model?

you didn't say the size of tank you were putting this on but i agree with the Remora as a good skimmer and i would like to add the PM HOT 1 as a possible venturi model.
i would opt for the Remora myself though i haven't ever owned one. i do have something very similiar to the PM HOT 1 (an excalibur) and find these standard venturi models to be pretty limited in skimmate output.

i don't know that ETSS makes a HOT model.
there doesn't seem to be alot of quality ones out there but the cruddy ones seem abundant.

8O Uh oh who ratted? lol Ain't that the truth. I would only go in sump, but if I had to go HO it would be either the Remora, or Urchin. Still I love the good'ol downdraft. I'm lounging in bed and can hear that wonderfull sucking noise across the room...kinda reminds me of this chick in Aberdeen... or is that :P
