I was able to "kill two birds with one stone" that way also. I've got a single 9 watt actinic bulb lighting my refugium at a reverse photoperiod. Since I face it sideways to the sump, it reflects up into the hood reflectors and back down, fully illuminating the tank.

Anybody else doing this? Reefnutz, do you have any other lights on your fuge? I was thinking about doing this myself but wasn't sure if there was a benefit or detriment to lighting the Fuge with only an Actinic.

I am planning to get the CPR Aquafuge HOB, and would like to do as you say kill two birds with one stone, by only lighting it with a small actinic light in the reverse photoperiod. My hope is that the light from the Fuge will filter through to my main tank at night providing the appropriate moonlighting. I may even run it 7x24 and switch out one of my 96w actinic PCs with a 50/50.

Thanks!
