Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a yellow tang & I noticed last night he was staying hidden behind rocks. He has a spot on the outside of 1 eye. It looks kinda like a blood blister a human might get. I don't know if it is a disease or injury. I have a damsel that is pretty aggressive sometimes, but I haven't seen him chasing the tang at all. Any suggestions on what it might be & or treatment would be appreciated.

"Blood blisters" are usually a sign of bacterial infetions or poisoning. Water quality is paramount. Correcting any water problems and using selcon with the food will usually clear it up.

It's hard to say if it is physical damage or an infection. If it is bacterial, you'll have to catch it and move it to a quarentine tank to treat it with gram-negative antibiotics. A lot of times they can heal on their own, so perhaps wait a few days before you do anything (assuming the condition doesn't worsen).

Thanks for the replies. It looks like the blister burst & he seems to be moving around more today. I will monitor for a few days & see what happens.
