Id this, and tell me, Part of this coral got broken off during a cleaning. The piece that was broken has small polyps on it and I was wondering is t possible to save this piece by attaching it to something or is it dead?

Oh yeah, this one's considered an LPS but it can be fragged as easily as an SPS. So, you can definitely start another colony with the broken frag.

I've always used super glue gel, but putty would also work.

You could apply the glue along the broken edge and the underside (generously). Dip it into a cup of tank water for a couple of seconds so that a skin develops. Than you can place it flat onto your rockwork or plug. The more surface area the better to accelerate encrusting.
